How to Get Around in Miami
Transportation

The Miami international Airport is located 7 miles away from Miami Beach. You can reach it by taxi, shuttle, bus, or even by train.

Taxis and Shuttle Vans

Taxi cabs y shuttle vans are available in the airport terminal, right outside the baggage claim. These are available 24hs a day, every day of the week.
The cost of the trip will vary accordingly to the distance. The most frequent destiny is Miami Beach, which has a fix rate of $24 dollars, in a taxi. The trip to the Miami Port will set you back $21. To Fort Lauderdale it will cost you around $66 dollars. The additional costs for the taxis and shuttle vans are shown at the transportation desks inside the terminal, right outside baggage claim. Or you can get help from the Department of Aviation personnel, with a blue uniform, at the outside doors.  

Bus Service

For those who want to take a bus ride a good option is the number 7 bus which will take you to Miami Beach. To take the bus you have to go to the Bus Terminal located on the main level outside the E terminal. Hop on bus J and just let the driver know you want to go to Miami Beach. On the 41st street and Indian Creek, you can make combinations with other bus lines such as C, L or H. It will take you around an hour and the cost is minimum, $1.5 dollars.
